Message from the Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development and Minister for Cross River Rail
The Hon Kate Jones MP
Welcome to this year’s Outback Queensland Masters.
This year’s event will again take place across six regional locations along a distance of 1600 kilometres, in June and July. Stopping in Biloela, Charleville, Quilpie, Blackall, Hughenden and Longreach, this event will showcase the diversity of experiences and locations in Outback Queensland and encourage visitor dispersal.
Golfers from around Australia will be enticed by the coveted million-dollar hole-in-one challenge, as well as the additional $10,000 hole-in-one challenges introduced this year, making this the world’s largest amateur golfing prize pool.
As players travel from event to event, we hope they extend their stay to explore the Outback and its wonderfully unique tourism offerings.
The Queensland Government is proud to support this event through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, which is worth $880 million to the state’s economy this year.
Thank you to all the wonderful communities hosting this event and to the visitors who have taken this opportunity to get out and explore Outback Queensland.
Outback Queensland Masters is funded under the Year of Outback Tourism Events Program during the Year of Outback Tourism 2019
