Pack your golf clubs, an Akubra and your sense of adventure, the Outback Queensland Masters (OQM) is a golf tournament of a different kind. After selling out in 2022, there isn’t much explaining to do as to why this event needs to be on your must-do list.

Held in six locations over six weekends in June and July, it’s a way to experience the best of Queensland’s Outback with a golf club in hand.

The Million-Dollar Hole-In-One

Need we say more?

Mount Isa’s scenic course is the grounds of the 2023 Million-Dollar Hole-In-One finale 21 – 23 July, as part of the city’s 100 centenary celebrations.

To qualify for this tee-off, play in two of the lead-up locations taking your pick from St George, Cunnamulla, Quilipe, Richmond and Karumba, the choice is yours. This means you’ll get plenty of practice and the chance to get a few pointers from our PGA Pro on tour. Check out the 2023 schedule here.

Our Million Dollar Pass or All Inclusive Pass will have you covered to make sure you qualify.

After the 2022 finale came to a nail-biting finish in the red sand of the Birdsville Dune Golf Club, will 2023 be there year one lucky golfer claims the bounty?

The Challenge

Birds' Eye View of Mount Isa Golf Course in Outback Queensland

As Australia’s most remote golf series, prepare your swing for some of the most unique golf courses in Australia.

This is a one-of-a-kind tournament that features a mix of traditional and sand greens, where your game is set to be tested. In Outback Queensland the greens aren’t always green, water hazards are extremely rare and don’t be surprised to find an abundance of kangaroos and emus to tip your Akubra to while playing.

For taking on the challenge, we’ve got a swag full of prizes up for grabs along the journey from five $10,000 hole-in-one opportunities and the Million-Dollar Hole-In-One. For the serious and not-so-serious, there are also prizes for the highest 9-hole and 18-hole stableford scores at each round, overall series winners and major random prize draws.

That’s right, this outback golf adventure could see you road-tripping home with more than $1M in your back pocket.

The Scenery

If you haven’t visited Queensland’s great big backyard before (the Outback), buckle up and get ready to be blown away by the rugged beauty, endless horizons and rich orange soils.

With OQM taking place over six outback locations and stretching over 2,800 kilometres in 2023, there’s really no better way to see Queensland’s outback.

Games take place over six back-to-back weekends, so that leaves plenty of time in your schedule to experience each of the host towns and make pit stops along the way.

The Outback Experience

The Outback Queensland Masters is much more than just a golf tournament, you don’t even need to play to join in.

After the first day of play wraps up, the fun continues into the evening under the stars of the outback sky.

The outback knows how to entertain and you’ll find its warm hospitality engulfing you at OQM’s Dinner Under the Stars experiences at each location. When the sun dips behind the seemingly endless horizon, gather around the roaring campfire with your new golfing mates, dine under the stars with locally made meals and watch some of Australia’s best bush poets and artists shine.

The best bit? It’s all included in your player and spectator passes.

To really embrace the local outback experience, all passes holders can join our exclusive curated OQM experiences before each competition weekend.
