The friendly town of Biloela in the heart of the Sandstone Wonders region is the first course of the 2021 Outback Queensland Masters, teeing off on 19 June.

To make the most of your time in this Outback town, here’s a few suggestions:

1. Kroombit Top National Park

If you enjoy the great outdoors, then this place is for you.

Towering ridges, deep gorges and panoramic vistas spill out across a wide horizon, resplendent against the ravages of time.

By day, rock-wallabies bound across rocky outcrops near Kroombit Creek. At night, micro-bats hunt for insects in the dry rainforest and yellow-bellied gliders scurry through the tree tops while powerful owls hunt for prey.

With some roads suitable for accessible to conventional vehicles and others built for 4X4 excitement, there’s every reason to go exploring in Kroombit Top National Park.

Did you know? Only at Kroombit Tops can you hear the unusual call of the endangered Kroombit tinkerfrog—listen for a series of sharp, metallic ‘tinks’. This elusive frog lives in small patches of rainforest where it is believed to spend much of its time hiding between large rocks.
