Countdown to Tee-off for Australia’s Most Remote Golf Series With $1M Hole-In-One!

OQM_Hero_0007-R

In an Australian first, the inaugural Outback Queensland Masters tees off in just over three weeks in the countdown to an epic event being staged across six Outback Queensland locations from 17 June to 28 July 2019, culminating in Mount Isa with a life changing opportunity – the $1 million dollar hole-in-one!

This is Australia’s most remote golf tournament spanning 1,400km (that’s the entire length of Great Britain!) including 6 locations – Roma, Charleville, Longreach, Winton, Boulia and onto Mount Isa.

Whether you’re an amateur golfer, social player or a first-time swinger, grab your clubs and head west for the inaugural Outback Queensland Masters this June and July (2019).

“The Outback Queensland Masters concept is presented by Golf Australia and partnered by Tourism & Events Queensland and the PGA, “explains Golf Australia’s Queensland Manager, Luke Bates. “This initiative is to encourage visitors to spread the economic benefit to as much of the outback as possible, while experience some incredibly unique locations, golf courses and outback Queensland hospitality.”

“We’re encouraging visitors to adventure Outback during an incredible array of experiences and events, including Midnight Oil live at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville, cinema under the stars at Winton’s Outback Festival and the famous Boulia Camel Races – just to name a few”.

How does it work?

First things first, the Outback Queensland Masters is a progressive golf tournament.

To be able to take the drive at the $1million dollar hole-in-one in Mount Isa, you’ll need to play at least two other courses in the outback first. To qualify, tee off at Roma, Charleville, Longreach, Winton or Boulia first.

“If you’re in it to win it, we’d recommend purchasing a Million Dollar Player Pass which includes access to two event locations of your choice, and the $1million dollar hole in Mount Isa”, explains Golf Australia’s Queensland Manager, Luke Bates.

What does a pass get you?

Your pass is your ticket to winning it big, covering all your green fees, 18 holes at each location (9 holes per day), breakfast, lunch and an evening dinner under the stars .

This is not for the pros!

You don’t have to be Tiger Woods to tackle this tournament. The Outback Queensland Masters is a competition for the amateur golfer as well as first timers and social golfers.

If your style is more Happy Gilmore, you can still enter the competition and go in the running for the big prize.

“We’ll also be encouraging juniors to participate, with special clinics with a golf pro at each location” said Luke Bates.

What if you just want to watch?

If teeing off on the outback ‘green’ isn’t for you, you can still experience the Outback Queensland Masters without even having to take a swing.

Spectators can join in on the country hospitality and live entertainment at each location with a Spectator Pass.
